Black holes are really far away! The furthest away spacecraft have been is just outside of the Solar System. The closest black hole (that we know of) to Earth is 27,000 light years away. That means that if we sent a spacecraft, travelling at the speed of light to the black hole, it would take it 27,000 years to reach it!

The idea is certainly an exciting one and people have thought a lot about what it might look like to fall into a black hole (have a quick google of ‘spaghettification’). Let me know if you ever manage!
