So there are 8 planets in our solar system: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.

Outside of the solar system, so far we’ve detected about 2,500 exoplanets (planets orbiting stars that aren’t our Sun) using a space telescope called Kepler. There’s no reason to think there aren’t more.
