From when I was about 7 or 8 I think. It was at this age when I started to find science at school interesting because we got to do experiments! I decided that I wanted to do a job that would allow me to do experiemnts too!

I was about 5, and there were lots of great TV shows about astronomy on Australian TV (especially about the Voyager space probes, and the fantastic pictures of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune they’d sent back to Earth) and I just got really excited about space. Its something that’s never stopped exciting me!

I would say 11, I enjoyed learning about how things work, how to take them apart and repair them when needed.

I was very little when I started wanting to be a scientist (probably 5 or 6) but I changed my mind a few times along the way before embarking on my current career!

Oh in comparison to everyone else, I think I wanted to be a scientist at around 16-17. I really enjoyed learning and I wanted to find out how to learn as much as possible about the universe and everything in it. I had a lot of things that I enjoyed at school, like English and Drama and I really loved history, I just thought that if I wanted to learn more, I could do science instead.
