Stars do have different colours. Just like a flame, a star’s colour changes with its temperature. If a star is colder, it tends to be redder in colour, like an ember. If it’s hotter, it will shine blue or white. Medium temperature stars are yellow like our Sun.

If you ever get to use a Bunsen burner in class, you might notice the difference between the safety flame (which is cool and reddish yellow) and the regular flame (which is blue and hotter).
