Question: Do you know if the sun will swallow the Earth?

Yes! Our Sun is quite an average star – not very big, not very little. This means that it’s actually not big enough to eventually explode in a supernova, but it is big enough to turn into a Red Giant. This should happen in about 5 billion years time when the Sun starts to run out of fuel, and it’ll expand outwards A LOT, definitely far enough to swallow the Earth!
