There’s 3 things that I find really exciting about my job:
      1. When I get a result. These can take such a long time and to eventually get a number out and look at it and go, ‘Yeah, I did that!’ is a pretty incredible thrill.
      2. To see other people’s discoveries and what they’re working on. It’s such a privilege to be down the hall from such incredible people everyday.
      3. Travel! As part of my PhD, you get to go to conferences to meet people and talk about your ideas and what you’re working on. This can take you all over the world. So far, I’ve been to Italy, Copenhagen, Chile (twice) and Hull and might be going to China later this year.

I love being a part of such a big collaboration that includes so many countries because you meet so many different people! It’s also always exciting when we find new things! I love seeing new gravitational wave detections, or when we improve the detector.
