The Earth isn’t going to explode and rather boringly, the Sun won’t explode either! The Sun isn’t heavy enough to ‘Go Supernovae’ – fancy term for star explosion. The Sun will puff up real big (it’ll swallow the Earth, at least!) as it runs out of fuel at the centre to keep it powered. Then it will gradually cool and shrink, forming what’s called a ‘white dwarf’.

Exactly what Bella said – that is, unless someone extremely determined decides to blow up the Earth. It just won’t explode on its own!

Bella has got it exactly right – our Sun is actually quite an average star. It’ll eventually turn into a ‘Red Giant’ and swallow up the Earth, but this will happen in about 5 billion years so nothing to worry about yet!
